Weather Update
Brought to you by the National Weather Forecasting Centre, Nadi, at the crack of dawn on Wednesday, December 24th, 2025.
Brace yourselves, Fiji! The forecast tonight is all dressed in clouds and ready to bring some showers to various regions including our friends in Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori, Tailevu-Naitasiri-Ra, Southern Bua, Cakaudrove, Taveuni and some nearby islands, as well as Lau and Lomaiviti groups, and Kadavu with its younger siblings.
Out in the wild, though, things look fine and dandy, except for the occasional surprise showers trying to crash the afternoon party. Thunderstorms might even pop in over Viti Levu and Vanua Levu, so keep an eye out; you don’t want to be caught out with soggy shoes!
The wind will be moderate to fresh, coming in from the southeast – perfect for those wanting to feel as if they’re being gently wrapped in a cooler breeze while sipping a drink by the beach. However, the seas might be a bit tricky, so think twice before diving in without your floaties!
Looking ahead to Thursday: expect more of those cloudy lounges with showers for Eastern Macuata, Cakaudrove, Southern Bua, Taveuni and nearby islands. Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori, Tailevu-Naitasiri-Ra, and Kadavu will see a bit more sunshine with brief showers, while everyone else enjoys a lovely fine day with a chance of those cheeky afternoon showers and thunderstorms.
Now, let’s get into the nitty-gritty of your local weather:
For the bustling trio of Navua, Suva, and Nausori: Get ready for cloudy moods and a few showers. Temperatures will cozy up between a mild 22°C and a toasty 31°C. Tomorrow’s outlook remains the same – just a little more charming!
In Natadradave and Korovou, it’s the same show: Cloudy with some showers, with temperatures tweaking slightly from 22°C to 30°C.
If you’re headed to the lovely Sigatoka/Coral Coast, expect a fine day with just a sprinkle of afternoon showers and a potential thunderstorm showdown. Temperatures will hover between 22°C and 31°C.
For the Nadi, Lautoka, and Ba area: sunny vibes will be interrupted by the occasional sprinkle. Tomorrow, get ready for a warm maximum of 32°C!
For Tavua and Rakiraki: It’s all sunshine and smiles here, but don’t forget your umbrella for those brief afternoon interruptions! Max out at a toasty 32°C tomorrow.
Those in Yasawa/Mamanuca group should be on shower alert too, but it’s still quite pleasant with max temps reaching 32°C!
Over in Labasa, expect a rather fine day with a chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms. You’re looking at a range of 21°C to 31°C.
In Savusavu, expect cloudy spells with a couple of showers to stir things up a bit. Temperatures will be on the comfortable side at 22°C to 30°C.
Finally, getting to the beautiful, slightly moody Rotuma: a weak trough of cloud and showers is looming, with occasional showers and some potential thunderstorm entertainment. Temperatures remain mild between 25°C and 30°C.
So, my fellow weather warriors, remember to enjoy the breezy vibes and keep those umbrellas handy!
