Well, folks, it’s shaping up to be another day where the weather gods continue their grand experiment with direction. Starting out with easterly winds that soon can’t resist the allure of the south, it looks like we’ll be treated to a southerly wind performance by later today. So hold onto your hats—or maybe just your sunscreen, just in case.

For the sun worshippers in the Fiji group, it seems like a game of hide and seek with the clouds. The Interior and Eastern parts of Viti Levu and Vanua Levu, and pretty much anywhere else with a long name, will have cloudy periods with brief showers. It’s like the sky wants to keep you on your toes—wet toes, specifically.

Elsewhere, it’s partly cloudy with a few showers playing the role of surprise guest star. So you might want to keep an umbrella handy, just in case nature decides to provide a temporary break in those sunshine plans.

The winds, moderately easterly for now, will pirouette into southerly fashion later today. The seas, meanwhile, have taken a vow to remain moderately behaved.

Peeking ahead to Sunday, expect things to get a bit more cheerful. Most areas will see fine weather, with a few areas still clinging to their reputation for showers. But overall, it’s a weekend forecast mostly free from weather-induced drama.

Now, onto the local forecasts:

In Navua, Suva, and Nausori, expect a mix of clouds and brief showers, with temperatures ranging from a comfy 21°C to a “not-yet-melting” 28°C. Sunday follows suit with a slightly cooler max of 27°C.

Over in Nadi, Lautoka, and Ba, cloudy intervals with isolated brief showers should make for an intriguing backdrop to your day. Temperatures will venture from 21°C to a sizzling 30°C, staying mostly fine on Sunday.

Sigatoka and the Coral Coast want to play it safe with some light showers, staying between 21°C and 30°C, while Sunday promises more sunshine plus a few playful showers.

Tavua and Rakiraki are warming up with temperatures from a cozy 21°C to a potential 30°C, and they’ve booked the sun for much of Sunday.

Natadradave and Korovou can expect some roaming clouds that may sprinkle a shower or two, temperatures ranging from 22°C to 28°C, with Sunday offering a slightly cooler top temp.

The sun in Yasawa and Mamanuca may toy with some clouds, but temperatures should feel just about perfect from 22°C to 28°C, nudging slightly higher on Sunday.

Labasa keeps it similarly tantalizing with isolated showers between 22°C and 30°C. Things look noticeably sunnier for the Sunday soiree.

Savusavu might frown upon the clouds’ plan for some showers, but temps will linger around 21°C to 28°C. Prepare for Sunday’s warming charm.

Nabouwalu and Taveuni are sticking to the theme of cloudy periods with brief cameos from showers, peaking at 29°C and 28°C, Sunday bringing a marginal cooldown.

The Lau and Lomaiviti Groups, sure not to miss out, align with similar guidelines, showers and all.

Kadavu is matching this theme, strutting between 22°C to 28°C, Sunday aligning well with the weather crew.

And way over in Rotuma, a shy trough is putting on a show of its own with narrated clouds and some willing showers, all under moderate easterly guidance. Sunday’s forecast reveals a slight temperature hike, but consistent showers remain the star of the show.

As the weather spins its usual yarns, remember that on this tropical fashion runway, clouds and sunshine each get their turn. Enjoy the show, and may your weekend be as fabulous as a double rainbow!
