Weather Update

Greetings, fellow weather enthusiasts! It’s time for your daily dose of weather magic, brought to you straight from the National Weather Forecasting Centre in Nadi. Buckle up, because here’s what to expect for today, April 23, 2025!

For the Fiji group, prepare yourself for a day of mood swings in the sky. It’s cloudy with a splash of sunshine and a side of brief showers, particularly over southeastern parts of Viti Levu, including our beloved Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori, and dipping into Southern Bua and Cakaudrove. The Lau and Lomaiviti groups, along with Kadavu and its petite island buddies, will also be joining the cloud party.

Now, before you burst into tears thinking about the daily downpour, the rest of you might be lucky enough to enjoy mostly fine weather—provided those sneaky afternoon showers don’t crash the scene. And yes, there’s a tiny chance of afternoon thunderstorms popping over the eastern half of Viti Levu and eastern Vanua Levu. Think of it as nature’s way of throwing in a little surprise!

We’ll have moderate southeasterly winds to keep you on your toes, along with moderate seas—so perfect for a gentle swim… if you dare!

Looking to tomorrow, Thursday is shaping up to be a bit of a repeat, as cloudiness and brief showers continue to entertain the southern parts. But don’t worry, there’s still a solid chance of sunshine for most, with only the occasional surprise shower potentially gatecrashing your plans.

Specifically for Navua / Suva / Nausori: Expect more of those cheerful cloudy periods interspersed with brief showers. Let’s be real, it’s a theme!

On the Coral Coast and Sigatoka: It will stay fine, with only a slight chance of those pesky afternoon showers trying to steal the limelight.

In Nadi / Lautoka / Ba: Same description, same vibe—fine, with a chance of that cheeky shower later.

Tavua/Rakiraki can also expect a fine day, though those thunderstorms might decide to show up for an afternoon surprise party.

Natadradave/Korovou: Fine with just a sprinkle of brief showers and a dash of potential thunderstorms. Isn’t nature dramatic?

Yasawa/Mamanuca group: All is well here, with just the possibility of light showers making an appearance.

As for Labasa: We’re keeping it fine, but don’t be surprised if those afternoon showers pop up to make things a little zesty, along with possible thunderstorms.

Savusavu is maintaining its cloud cover, with brief showers, and a chance of thunderstorms lurking around the corner.

For Lau/Lomaiviti and Kadavu: Sorry, more cloudy periods with brief showers for you folks!

And finally, Rotuma seems to be experiencing some excitement with a slow-moving low-pressure trough. Expect occasional showers and isolated thunderstorms; it’s like the weather is throwing a little drama into the mix. Moderate northeasterly winds and seas will keep things interesting.

That’s your weather scoop for today! Stay dry out there, or enjoy the rain if that’s more your vibe. Remember, no weather pattern lasts forever—unless it’s cloudiness, apparently!
