Issued from the National Weather Forecasting Centre Nadi at 10:45 am on Saturday the 17th of May 2025
Hold onto your umbrellas, folks! This weekend, the weather gods have decided to throw a little cloud party in our fine Fijian paradise. Expect some overcast skies and showers to pay a visit in Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori, Tailevu-Naitasiri, Ra, Southern Bua, Cakaudrove, Kadavu, and their smaller island friends, along with the Lau and Lomaiviti groups. Don’t worry; the sun hasn’t gone on holiday everywhere; fine weather can still be found in other areas.
As night falls, cool temperatures will make you want to snuggle under a blanket or embrace your inner cocoon; it’s perfectly fine to embrace feeling chilly!
The winds are putting on a moderate to fresh performance from the east to southeast, adding a bit of a gusty twist so hold on to those hats—it’s going to be a wild ride on the seas too with some respectable roughness.
Monday’s forecast? Well, it looks similar to Sunday with more cloudy shenanigans and showers in the same regions, but the sun will still shine on some lucky spots, making for a whimsical mix! Cool nights? Yup, they’re sticking around!
Now let’s break it down by area:
For Navua / Suva / Nausori: Cloudy with some intermittent showers. Pack a light jacket for those cool nights!
For Sigatoka/Coral Coast: Sunshine will be serving you with a side of cool nights. Perfect weather for a beachside barbecue!
For Nadi / Lautoka / Ba: Sunshine for days! Expect cool nights—no need to turn on the air conditioning!
For Tavua/Rakiraki: Same sunny story with cool nights.
For Natadradave/Korovou: Cloudy periods and showers, who could ask for more? But don’t forget your sweater for the cool evenings!
For Yasawa/Mamanuca group: Clear skies and cool nights reigned supreme!
For Labasa: Yup, you guessed it! Fine weather and cool nights too!
For Savusavu: More clouds than a cotton candy factory and some showers—definitely a night for cozy socks!
For Lau/ Lomaiviti: Cozy clouds and showers—might be a good time to sit by a warm fire!
For Kadavu: More of those friendly cloud visitors with cool nights!
For Rotuma: We’ve got a trough of low pressure dancing through, bringing along its friends—occasional showers and isolated thunderstorms. Those easty winds are keeping things lively with moderate to rough seas.
And there you have it! Just remember to keep an eye on the skies, pack your rain gear where needed, and enjoy the cool evenings. Stay safe and have fun out there!
