Weather Update: February 9, 2026

Greetings, weather aficionados! Buckle up because we’ve got a bit of a rollercoaster ride in the forecast today, courtesy of a sluggish low-pressure trough that’s decided to hang out on the west side of Viti Levu. Think of it as a guest that overstays their welcome—a bit cloudy, showers here and there, and a sprinkle of drama in the form of thunderstorms.

Let’s break it down for the rest of the day:

In our fabulous trio of Navua, Suva, and Nausori, expect occasional showers that may flirt with a few thunderstorms. Don’t worry, they’re just here to liven up your Monday! Showers should start packing up and clearing out by the end of the day, leaving you with some divine sunshine. Temperatures will range from a cozy 24°C to a warm 31°C.

Looking ahead to tomorrow, keep your umbrella close because we’ll still have some cloudy periods and the chance of showers and thunderstorms in the mix—a bit let down that they’re sticking around but what can you do? The temps will rise to a balmy 33°C, so stay cool!

Now, if you’re strolling down to Sigatoka and the Coral Coast, prepare for an adventure with cloudiness that comes with the threat of some thunder and lightning doing their acrobatics. Expect some highs hitting around 32°C. Tuesday promises a turn for the better with just a few random showers—like those friends who pop by unannounced!

Those in the bustling Nadi, Lautoka, and Ba can expect a partly cloudy day, also graced with afternoon or evening showers, potentially accompanied by a thunderous performance. That’s a 33°C special for you later today!

For our friends in Taveuni and surrounding islands, keep an umbrella handy as thunderstorms and showers try to steal the spotlight. Nevertheless, temperatures should remain snug, hovering around 33°C.

As for Rotuma, the isolated storms are crashing the party, so enjoy those moderate northeasterly winds while keeping that sense of humor intact!

So, whether you’re in the mood for rain, thunder, or just a good ol’ Canadian downpour (sorry for the stereotype), make sure you’re prepared. And remember—this weather’s like a box of chocolates; you never know what you’re going to get! Stay dry, stay safe, and enjoy the day!
