A strong wind warning remains in force for coastal land areas for Yasawa, Rakiraki, Nabouwalu, Udu Point, Taveuni and nearby smaller islands, the Lau and Lomaiviti groups, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands. A separate strong wind warning remains in force for Rotuma’s land and waters. Situation: A weak trough of low pressure is slow-moving over the country and drifting eastwards away from the group. Another trough is expected to approach from the northeast later today. Cloud and showers associated with these systems are likely to affect the northern and eastern parts of the group over the next few days.
Forecast to midnight tomorrow for the Fiji group:
– For coastal land areas of Yasawa, Rakiraki, Nabouwalu, Udu Point, Taveuni and nearby smaller islands, Lau and Lomaiviti group, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands: Southeast winds with average speeds up to 45 km/hr.
– For the rest of Fiji: Moderate to fresh southeast winds, gusty at times. Rough seas.
– Cloudy periods with some showers and possible thunderstorm over the Northern Division, Lau and Lomaiviti groups, Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori, Tailevu-Naitasiri-Ra, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands. Showers becoming frequent later tomorrow. Localised heavy falls may lead to flash-flooding of low lying areas. Fine apart from possible afternoon or evening showers elsewhere. Cool at night.
Outlook for Monday:

Note:
