Weather Alert! Calling all who enjoy holding onto their hats—or care to borrow one as a necessity. We’ve got a strong wind warning in effect for numerous coastal areas including Ra-Rakiraki, Southern Bua, Eastern Macuata, and many of our beloved island groups like Lomaiviti, Yasawa, and Kadavu. Mother Nature seems keen on rearranging hairstyles today, with southeast winds gusting up to 45 km/h. If you’re not ready to fly a kite, maybe now’s the time to give it a go.
Here’s the blow-by-blow of the forecast until midnight: Our charming southeast wind is making its presence felt, and there will be rough seas—ideal for those who can’t decide if they prefer swimming or a bouncy ride on the ocean. Clouds with quick showers will feature mainly across Serua-Namosi and lots of other places… pretty much wherever it can possibly rain without turning into an all-day affair.
For serenity seekers in Nadi, Lautoka, Ba, and Sigatoka, you’re in luck! The weather will be mainly fine and delightfully cool at night. So, plan that beach bonfire with your friends (or just yourself, let’s be honest)—it’s going to be a perfect evening for it. Temperatures will dance between 19°C to 30°C, which translates to “just right” in tropical terms.
Meanwhile, Tavua and Rakiraki are preparing to welcome the zaftig southeast winds yet still hang onto their ‘mainly fine’ badge. And, of course, it remains cool at night—ideal for late-night mysteries of the star-gazing variety.
As for Rotuma, the winds are flexing their muscles, too, with some drama in the form of isolated thunderstorms later on. Temperatures here will be agreeable, keeping consistent between 25°C and 30°C.
All in all, it seems like a day of spirited weather with a hint of unpredictability. Hat wearers, beware, but otherwise, enjoy the whimsical side of the winds today. Keep safe and let the breezes take your imagination soaring!
