Weather Update

Good morning, Fiji! It’s Monday, December 29, 2025, and if you were hoping for bikini weather, I suggest sticking to your trusty raincoat instead. A moist breeze from the north to northeast is currently hanging around, enjoying the local scenery while we prepare for an active trough of low pressure attempting to make a grand entrance from the west. Expect it to get comfy in the group from later tomorrow all the way through the weekend, so you might want to keep your umbrella handy and your dancing shoes on for those surprise thunderstorms!

For today, the forecast promises cloudy skies with a few showers, and perhaps a couple of isolated thunderstorms—Mother Nature’s way of throwing a surprise party! Keep an eye out for heavy rainfall, particularly over the interior and the northwestern and northeastern parts of Viti Levu, as well as selected areas in Vanua Levu. Other sunny (sort of) areas will enjoy a bit of cloud cover and the occasional shower, which might feel like the sky’s nostalgic after all that sun. Just a gentle reminder that localized heavy downpours could lead to some flash flooding in low-lying areas, so make sure your floaties are nearby!

As for the winds, you’ll experience a moderate flow from the north to northeast that will soon feel a bit more like it’s been working out (turning to the northwest). And don’t fret about the ocean; it’s looking moderately choppy, which means it might be great for adventure-seekers but a little daunting for less experienced swimmers!

Tuesday’s forecast continues this cloud-filled trend, with promise of showers and more thunderstorm action in the afternoon because someone decided that a cloudy day needed a dramatic flair. So, make sure you pack your wellingtons along with your lunch!

For specific areas:

Navua/Suva/Nausori: Expect some cheerful clouds, with isolated afternoon showers and thunder, promising a comfy Min 24° and fiery Max 31°.

So there you have it, folks! Grab your raincoat and keep an eye on the skies. Enjoy your Monday, and remain delightfully unpredictable!
