Weather Bulletin

Well, folks, if you thought you could leave your umbrella at home today, think again! A heavy rain warning is still very much in play for the entire Fiji Group – grab that umbrella before it tries to make a run for it.

And just when you thought it couldn’t get any wetter, a flash flood warning is also making its rounds on Viti Levu. So, if you’ve got a boat lying around, now might be a good time to dust it off. If you’re in areas prone to flooding along the Nakauvadra River, Yaqara River, Tavua River, and surrounding flood plains, you’re definitely going to want to keep your eye on the skies.

The situation? An active trough of low pressure has decided to throw a rain party, and you’re all invited – until Wednesday. Expect occasional downpours and possibly some not-so-friendly thunderstorms crashing the party.

Tonight’s forecast may not include bright stars, but we’re looking at periods of rain, heavy at times, and those occasional thunderstorm “specials.” Hopefully, this isn’t your cue to bring out the rain dance. As tomorrow rolls around, things should start to ease off a bit, giving way to slightly more civilized weather.

For your Thursday fun, expect some cloudy periods with a bit of sprightly showers over Navua, Suva, and other lovely spots. Just a heads-up: those isolated thunderstorms aren’t going to take a break on Viti Levu and Vanua Levu, so watch out for localized heavy falls that might lead to a flash flood.

Now, let’s get you prepared for your local weather!

For Navua/Suva/Nausori:
Expect a wet and wild ride with occasional heavy rain and a few thunder claps. Min: 25, Max: 30. Thursday’s forecast looks a bit better with just cloudy periods and some showers. Min: 24, Max: 31.

For Natadradave/Korovou:
More of the same is on the menu, with rain galore and the occasional thunderstorm. Thursday promises some cloud but will ease up with min: 24, Max: 31.

For Sigatoka/Coral Coast:
Rain, rain, and more rain with a few thunder dramas in the mix. Thursday looks to be more chill, with just a chance of those pesky isolated showers.

For Nadi/Lautoka/Ba:
More rain is on the agenda! Same song – different dance. But brighter days are on the horizon! Min: 25, Max: 30 for now.

For Tavua/Rakiraki:
Rain with an emphasis on ‘occasionally heavy’ means you might want to wear water-resistant shoes. Thursday promises to be calmer!

For Yasawa/Mamanuca:
Brace for rain, heavy at times, and a splash of thunder! But hey, Thursday is looking up – literally!

For Labasa:
Get those rainsuits ready! The thunder is not going to stop until we hit Thursday when things start to clear up.

For Savusavu:
It’s a rain and thunder combo; just more reasons to stay cozy indoors.

For Nabouwalu:
Heavy rain and thunder also in play, but Thursday should lighten up!

For Taveuni:
We’re not skipping on the rain either! Just hang in there, Thursday has a touch of optimism.

For Lau and Lomaiviti, as well as Kadavu:
Heavy rain – identical twins of forecast misery.

And don’t forget about Rotuma; the storm system has kindly left, giving you a break, albeit with some passing showers and typical island winds.

Remember, stay dry, stay safe, and if all else fails, dance in the rain!
