Fiji Waters Brace for Weekend Wind and Wave Warnings!

A strong wind warning has been issued for all Fiji Waters for the upcoming weekend. The Fiji Meteorological Services provided a serious warning highlighting the expected rise in rough seas.

Fishermen and sailors are urged to take necessary precautions and avoid venturing into rough waters. Currently, an east to southeast wind flow is affecting the Fiji region, with a trough of low pressure located just to the south.

Around midday, winds from the east to southeast are anticipated to reach 20 to 25 knots, accompanied by rough seas and moderate southerly swells.

Occasional showers and isolated thunderstorms are forecast for the following areas:
– Serua-Namosi
– Navua-Suva-Nausori-Tailevu
– Naitasiri, Ra-Rakiraki
– Eastern Macuata
– Southern Bua
– Cakaudrove
– Kadavu
– Lau
– Lomaiviti groups

Other regions are expected to experience cloudy conditions with showers and possible isolated thunderstorms, particularly during the afternoon or evening. The same weather patterns are projected for all divisions and outer islands, with possible isolated thunderstorms on Saturday afternoon and evening.
