The Minister for Foreign Affairs and External Trade of Fiji, Sakiasi Ditoka, recently met with British High Commissioner to Fiji, Kanbar Hossein-Bor, reaffirming the strong ties between Fiji and the United Kingdom. This significant meeting took place just ahead of the Commonwealth Law Ministers Meeting, scheduled to be hosted in Nadi, Fiji, from tomorrow until the 12th.
During their discussions, Ditoka expressed gratitude towards the UK for its enduring partnership with Fiji, particularly highlighting their collaborative efforts in critical areas such as climate change, ocean conservation, trade, security, and peacekeeping initiatives. The dialogue also touched upon the notable contributions of Fijians serving in the British Army, as well as the vibrant Fijian community within the UK.
Both officials agreed that hosting the Commonwealth Law Ministers Meeting represents an important opportunity to further strengthen Fiji-UK relations and enhance cooperation within the Commonwealth.
