The Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation has officially announced the Third Fiji Tourism Convention (FTC) set for January 22 and 23, 2026, at the Sofitel Fiji Resort and Spa in Nadi. This flagship national forum is expected to unite tourism leaders from government, industry, communities, and development partners to discuss the future of Fiji’s visitor economy.

This year’s convention theme, “Tourism Beyond Boundaries,” highlights the sector’s commitment to improving resilience, promoting inclusivity, and advancing sustainable developments. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation, Viliame Gavoka, emphasized that the theme represents a refreshed vision for Fiji’s tourism sector, focusing on involving communities, fostering partnerships, and discovering innovative ways to benefit both Fijians and visitors.

In building on previous conventions’ successes, the upcoming event aims to foster discussions that will promote cross-sector cooperation, community involvement, and long-term sustainability. Dr. Paresh Pant, CEO of Tourism Fiji, noted the importance of this Convention as a vital platform for aligning national priorities and reinforcing Fiji’s competitive edge in the global tourism market.

“The Convention helps us understand emerging needs, hear directly from our industry and communities, and refine how we promote and market Fiji. When our foundations at home are stronger, our marketing can go further,” Dr. Pant mentioned.

Throughout the two-day gathering, attendees can expect keynote speeches, panel discussions, and networking opportunities designed to build upon resolutions from the previous Convention, guiding Fiji into its next phase of tourism growth. This event signifies a proactive approach to addressing the evolving landscape of tourism, aimed at ensuring a bright and sustainable future for the industry.
