Federico Miller, a talented student from Marist Brothers High School, is setting ambitious goals as he aims for the 2026 Commonwealth Games. At just 17 years old, Miller has already showcased his skills on the international stage, representing Fiji at the 2025 Pacific Mini Games in Palau, where he secured a gold medal.

Reflecting on his experience, Miller expressed gratitude for the opportunities he has been given, stating, “It’s been a really good experience especially at a young age to compete against the best from other countries.” Under the guidance of former national triple jump champion Eugene Vollmer, who trains him at the Marist Athletics Club, Miller is motivated to explore more international competitions leading up to 2026.

Vollmer is optimistic about Miller’s potential, noting, “Last year Federico Miller won Gold at the Pacific Mini Games, and he will be eyeing a spot at the Commonwealth Games and also the Oceania Championships and Youth Olympics.” The path to the Commonwealth Games will undoubtedly be challenging, as Miller needs to achieve a jump of 15 meters to qualify. Currently, his personal best stands at 14 meters, but he is committed to working diligently to reach his goal.

Miller’s dedication and the support of his coach have instilled in him a sense of hope. He remarked, “It won’t be easy; I’ll have to really work hard, but with the support of the coach, I know I have a chance of making it.” With such determination and a strong support system in place, the future looks bright for this young athlete as he strives to achieve his dreams on the global stage.
