Fiji will take part in the inaugural Global Ministerial Conference on Ending Violence Against Children, taking place in Bogota, Colombia this month. The delegation includes Minister for Women, Children and Social Protection, Lynda Tabuya, along with Child Advisor Natalie Siegel-Brown and Director of Children, Arieta Tagivetaua.

During the conference, Minister Tabuya is expected to share the Fijian government’s pledge to combat violence against children. This event presents a significant opportunity for nations to enhance efforts aimed at eradicating violence against children, focusing on strengthening child protection and violence prevention systems.

The outcomes of this conference are expected to align with and support the commitments laid out in Fiji’s National Development Plan for 2025-2029, emphasizing the country’s dedication to safeguarding children’s rights and welfare.

This participation not only highlights Fiji’s commitment to this crucial issue but also fosters collaboration with other nations, potentially leading to innovative solutions and shared best practices in the ongoing fight against violence towards children.
