Fiji Sugar Corporation Faces $170K Salary Cut for Executives

The Fiji Sugar Corporation reported a $170,000 reduction in salaries for key management personnel in 2024 compared to 2023. According to the 2024 annual report, the total compensation for key management reached $1.16 million in 2023 but dropped to $1.33 million in 2024.

As of May 31, 2024, the corporation had eight executives identified as key management personnel, including the chief executive officer, head of finance, chief operating officer, head of agriculture, three general managers of mills, and the chief human resources officer. These individuals hold significant authority and are responsible for planning, directing, and controlling the corporation’s activities.

Additionally, certain members of the executive management group received non-cash employment benefits, including vehicle and housing allowances, along with medical insurance coverage, amounting to a total benefit value of $84,395 for the year.

An earlier report mistakenly stated there was a $174,000 increase in salaries. The error has been acknowledged and an apology issued for any confusion caused.
