Brian John McKay proudly graduated from the Fiji National University’s CISCO Certified Network program yesterday, completing a challenging journey that spanned a year and a half. Hailing from Vagadaci in Levuka, with family roots in Naselai, Nuku, Tailevu, McKay expressed how the program significantly influenced his outlook on life and his aspirations for the future.

Before embarking on this academic path at FNU, McKay completed his education at Gospel High School, where he reached Year 12. Reflecting on his initial struggles, he admitted, “The first time I took the course, it was hard. I couldn’t cram some things, and there was a lot going on, but I thank the Lord for helping me.”

In a heartfelt tribute, McKay dedicated his certificate to his parents and his grandmother, Lydia Yava. He emphasized the importance of perseverance, sharing, “Sometimes I wanted to give up, but my parents kept urging me to stand on my own two feet and study hard.”

As an only child, McKay offered valuable advice to other students: to remain true to themselves, demonstrating the strength and resilience that can lead to personal and academic success.
