Fiji has advanced four spots in the most recent FIFA World Rankings, now standing as the second highest ranked team in the Oceania region. The Bula Boys, coached by Rob Sherman, are ranked 146th, marking their best position since 2011.

Fiji secured this ranking by defeating the Solomon Islands 1-0 on October 10 during the FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

In comparison, New Zealand is also rising in the rankings, now positioned at 91, their highest since 2016, largely thanks to victories over Tahiti and Malaysia.

Additionally, New Caledonia and Vanuatu have each climbed five places to rank 155 and 157, respectively, following their wins in World Cup qualifying matches.

Conversely, Papua New Guinea has seen a decline, slipping to 171, which is their lowest ranking since 2018.

At the top of the global rankings, Argentina remains in first place, although their lead over second-ranked France and third-ranked Spain has diminished. England, Brazil, and Belgium maintain their positions in the fourth, fifth, and sixth slots, respectively. Portugal and Italy are the only teams within the top ten to have moved up, now ranking seventh and ninth, while the Netherlands and Colombia have dropped to eighth and tenth. Germany is in eleventh place, moving up two spots and closing in on the top ten.

The next FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking will be released on November 28, 2024.
