Fiji has secured the third spot on Lonely Planet’s Best in Travel list for 2025. This prestigious list recognizes the top 30 countries, regions, and cities worldwide, as chosen by Lonely Planet’s team of travel experts.

Lonely Planet, a leading travel publisher known for its detailed and practical travel guides, covers destinations across Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas. Their guidebooks and digital resources provide trusted recommendations for budget-conscious travelers, offering practical tips, cultural experiences, and local insights that enable visitors to truly connect with each destination.

Brent Hill, the chief executive officer of Tourism Fiji, expressed enthusiasm about the accolade. “While our main goal is to ensure Fiji remains a top destination for travelers, recognitions like this are incredibly motivating. They reflect the dedication and hard work of everyone in the tourism sector, from local businesses to hospitality staff.”

Hill emphasized the importance of using such recognition not just as an award, but as a sign of the need for sustainable growth in the tourism industry, ensuring that the economic advantages of tourism benefit all Fijians. He concluded by stating that maintaining competitiveness, investing in tourism, and bolstering sustainability are crucial for the continued growth of Fiji’s economy and local businesses.
