Investment Fiji has recently achieved recognition at the Annual Investment Meeting (AIM) Congress in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, winning the Foreign Direct Investment Award for the South Pacific, East Asia, and Oceania region. This prestigious accolade honors Investment Promotion Agencies (IPAs) that have made outstanding contributions to global economic growth and development through foreign direct investment (FDI).
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade, Manoa Kamikamica, praised Investment Fiji’s achievement, stating that this award is a significant endorsement of the nation’s investment policies and solidifies Fiji’s reputation as a leading investment destination in the region. He noted, “This recognition will further elevate our international standing.”
Jenny Seeto, Chair of the Investment Fiji Board, described the award as a remarkable milestone that reflects the dedication and talent of the Investment Fiji team. She expressed optimism about the international recognition placing Fiji firmly on the global investment map, which is likely to bolster investor confidence in the country. Seeto also highlighted that the exposure gained from the AIM Investment Awards would encourage Investment Fiji to explore new opportunities and forge stronger partnerships aligned with Fiji’s national development goals.
Notably, over the past few years, Investment Fiji has transitioned into a fully-fledged Investment Promotion Agency, marking a new era that enables it to pursue innovative pathways for attracting investments. Seeto emphasized that although this achievement is significant, it marks only the beginning of their efforts to increase investment and trade.
The AIM Investment Awards are evaluated by a panel of respected global experts in the investment sector, underscoring the high standards and stiff competition present in the market.
This recognition not only celebrates Investment Fiji’s past achievements but also paves the way for future opportunities, reflecting a hopeful outlook towards a prosperous investment climate in Fiji.
Overall, as Fiji continues to strengthen its position as an investment hub, the encouragement from the international community and the commitment of local institutions remain vital for sustainable economic growth.
