Fiji Airways Fiji men’s sevens head coach Osea Kolinisau expresses strong confidence in his team’s physical preparedness as they approach the Singapore 7s. The squad has recently completed an intensive conditioning phase over the Christmas and New Year period, which Kolinisau believes has set them up well for the next leg of the World Rugby Sevens Series.

Reflecting on the team’s rigorous training, Kolinisau stated that the preparation was particularly demanding in the weeks leading up to the Coral Coast Sevens and the final week before they departed. He emphasized, “I’m satisfied with the team’s fitness. I know the work we put in, especially in the lead-up to Coral Coast. We had a tough two weeks, one week before Coral Coast and then the week before we left.”

The former Olympic gold medalist is optimistic that the conditioning program has equipped the squad to effectively execute their game plan on the field in Singapore and showcased the essential physical resilience required at the elite level. “I trust and believe the boys are ready and they’re going to go there and do the job that we intend to do,” he remarked.

The men’s team will begin their campaign on Saturday at 4:32 PM against Great Britain, followed by a match against Spain at 7:58 PM, and will conclude their pool games with a clash against South Africa at 11:46 PM. Fans can catch all the action live on FBC TV.

As the team gears up for this critical tournament, there is a sense of anticipation and hope for strong performances that resonates not only with the players but also with loyal supporters.
