The Fiji Senior Golfers tournament, sponsored by Asco Motors, was held at the Natadola Golf Course in Nadi over the weekend.
Fiji Golf Club Secretary Susan Yee reported that the event saw participation from 70 players competing in a two-person Ambrose format. Participants hailed from the West, Pacific Harbour, Australia, and the Fiji Golf Club, all coming together for a day filled with golfing fun.
Yee highlighted the participation of 20 female golfers, including prominent players like Susan Joyce, Barbara O’Neil, and Heather Atu from Nadi, as well as Tema Buadromo from Australia, alongside Fiji Golf Club members Barbara Nasara, Mua Rawlinson, and Caroline Chang.
Prizes were awarded to the top six teams, along with rewards for Nearest-to-the-Pin on all Par 3 holes and Longest Drives for both male and female players, thanks to the sponsorship from Asco Motors Limited. The tournament also featured two lucky draw vouchers, and lunch was provided by the Natadola team.
The final standings saw Indar Wajan and Joeli finishing 6th with 67.5 points, Asim Hussein and Thiphait Hussein in 5th with 67 points, Kamal Singh and Naveen Chand 4th with 66.5 points, Jack Lee and Rookie in 3rd with 66 points, Linda Callaghan and Vidhya Lakhan taking 2nd with 65.75 points, and Carol Wright and Susan Joyce crowned champions with 64 points.
