The Ministry of Immigration has issued a public wanted list featuring 20 individuals who have absconded, violating Section 13(2)(a) of the Immigration Act 2003. The notice reveals that most of those on the list are foreign nationals hailing from Bangladesh, Kiribati, and the Philippines.
This call to action invites members of the community to assist authorities by providing information regarding the absconders’ locations. These individuals have not complied with the conditions of their permits and are now deemed to be unlawfully residing in Fiji.
The Ministry emphasizes the importance of public cooperation in upholding the integrity of the immigration system in the country. They encourage anyone with pertinent information to contact the ministry’s offices directly, highlighting that community engagement is crucial for addressing such challenges effectively.
