The Fiji Residence rugby league team is preparing for an exhilarating match against Samoa tomorrow, set to take place as a prelude to the Vodafone Fiji Bati versus Cook Islands Pacific Bowl match.

Vula Dakuitoga, a former Fiji Bati player and the current coach of the Residence team, expressed optimism about their preparation for the upcoming game. “The preparations are very good; the team spent the past week in camp at Uprising in Navua, focusing on perfecting their attack and defence strategies to ensure they are fully prepared for Samoa,” Dakuitoga stated.

He underscored the significance of this match, anticipating a highly competitive encounter between the two Pacific Island nations. “This will be a spectacular match; it’s just two Pacific Islands meeting, and it promises to be a fantastic showdown.”

While acknowledging the challenge posed by Samoa, Dakuitoga remains confident in his team’s ability to clinch a victory. “Samoa will come in strong, as we all know they will be tough, but we won’t allow them an easy path; we are determined to win this match.”

To galvanize support from fans and families, especially following the Fiji Bati team’s recent disappointing results, Dakuitoga encouraged everyone to come out in large numbers to cheer for all three teams – Fiji Residence, Fiji Bati, and Fiji Bulikula. He assured that the team is committed to putting on an impressive performance and emerging victorious.

Additionally, the team made a positive impact in the community by visiting the Disability Centre in Suva yesterday, reinforcing their dedication both on and off the rugby field.

The Fiji Residents will face the Samoa Residents at 3:50 PM at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.
