The Fiji Residence rugby league team is set for an exciting match against Samoa tomorrow, serving as a curtain-raiser for the Vodafone Fiji Bati versus Cook Islands Pacific Bowl clash.

Former Fiji Bati star and current coach of the Residence team, Vula Dakuitoga, expressed optimism about their preparations for the game. “The preparations have been excellent; the team spent the past week training at Uprising in Navua, focusing on honing their attack and defense strategies to ensure they are well-prepared to face Samoa,” Dakuitoga stated.

He highlighted the significance of this match, noting the fierce competition anticipated when two Pacific Island nations contest on the rugby league field. “This is going to be a thrilling match; it’s just two Pacific Islands meeting each other, and it will be a fantastic encounter,” Dakuitoga added.

While acknowledging the tough challenge posed by Samoa, he remains confident that his team is ready to claim victory. “Samoa will come out strong, as we all know they will be tough, but we won’t let them take the easy route; we will win this match,” he affirmed.

Dakuitoga also called upon fans and families to rally support, especially after the recent disappointing results from the Fiji Bati team over the weekend. He urged everyone to come out in numbers to cheer on all three teams: Fiji Residence, Fiji Bati, and Fiji Bulikula. He assured that the team is committed to delivering a strong performance and securing a win in the upcoming match.

In addition to their match preparations, the team took time to give back to the community by visiting the Disability Centre in Suva yesterday, demonstrating their dedication both on and off the field.

The Fiji Residents will play against the Samoa Residents at 3:50 PM at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.
