Excitement is building for the eagerly awaited 2025 RC Manubhai/APCO Coatings International Veterans Tournament, which is set to take place this Thursday at the Fiji FA Academy grounds in Vatuwaqa. The event promises to deliver an exhilarating atmosphere as 16 teams are set to compete across two age categories: Over 40 and Over 45.

The tournament’s official pool draws were conducted recently, paving the way for thrilling matchups. Notably, reigning champions JK Nadi will not attend this year, ensuring a fresh champion will be crowned in the Over-45 category. The competition will see My Suva Legends, Nasinu Legends, Rewa Masters, and Lami Legends in Group A of the Over-45 division, while Group B will consist of Suva Combine Masters, Nasinu Masters, Rewa Legends, and Lautoka Veterans.

In the Over-40 category, defending champions Rewa Masters will lead Group A against Suva Masters, Navua Masters, and newcomers Tailevu Naitasiri Masters. Group B features Rewa Legends, Suva Combine Masters, Nadi Masters, and Nasinu Legends, promising intense and competitive matchups from the outset.

Fiji FA CEO Mohammed Yusuf emphasized the tournament’s significance, stating it is more than just a sporting event. “This is a way to give back to former players,” he remarked. The proceeds from the tournament will support past players and their families, underlining a strong commitment to community and gratitude for the contributions these players have made to the sport.

Adding to the festivities, the finals of both the Over-40 and Over-45 categories will precede the prestigious 2025 BiC Fiji FACT Grand Final at HFC Bank Stadium in Suva this Sunday, creating an exciting atmosphere for football fans.

This tournament not only highlights competitive spirit but also fosters camaraderie among former players, enhancing community ties within Fiji’s rich football culture. So gear up for a weekend filled with nostalgia, sportsmanship, and passionate football action!
