The Fiji Police Force is intensifying its efforts to combat livestock theft, particularly in the midst of challenging weather conditions. Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations, Livai Driu, reports a surge in complaints related to livestock theft, noting that opportunistic thieves may exploit the current adverse weather.

To counteract this trend, police officers are actively engaging in Community Policing Visitation as part of their festive operations. They are advising community members to take precautions by ensuring their livestock are properly secured, especially as weather conditions deteriorate or nightfall approaches.

ACP Driu emphasizes the importance of community vigilance, urging people to look out for one another and their livestock. This collective effort is crucial in safeguarding against theft and enhancing community safety in these trying times.

This initiative underscores the police’s commitment to protecting residents and their property, fostering a sense of community responsibility and safety. By encouraging proactive measures, the Fiji Police Force aims to create a stronger, more resilient community capable of facing challenges together.
