A recent operation by the Fiji Police Detector Dog Unit (FDDU) resulted in the arrest of a man in Kinoya on charges related to illicit drugs. The incident took place during a mobile patrol when officers noticed suspicious behavior from the suspect, who was seen talking with another man while carrying his child.

Upon conducting a search, police discovered multiple bullets of dried leaves, which are believed to be marijuana. Following this initial finding, authorities carried out a further search at the suspect’s residence. This led to the arrest of a second individual, a woman, who was also found in possession of more bullets of the same substance.

Both suspects have been taken into custody, and the seized materials are currently undergoing analysis to confirm their nature. This incident highlights the ongoing efforts of law enforcement in Fiji to combat drug-related offenses and ensure community safety.

In recent months, Fiji Police have intensified their patrols, focusing on areas with reported suspicious activity. Their proactive measures reflect a commitment to maintaining public safety and reducing drug prevalence in the community, which is vital for the well-being of families and neighborhoods alike. The collaboration between community members and law enforcement plays a crucial role in these efforts, encouraging vigilance against illicit activities.
