The Fiji Police Force’s sports program has received a vital financial boost thanks to sponsorships from Lincoln Refrigeration Pte Ltd and Newworld IGA Fiji. These contributions will support the upcoming Inter-formation Soccer Competition, a significant event for the Police Force. The handover ceremony took place at the Police headquarters in Centerpoint, Nasinu, where Police Commissioner Rusiate Tudravu expressed gratitude for the support, noting that financial assistance is crucial for organizing such large tournaments.
The tournament is set to begin at Four R Electrical, Govind Park and will run from today until Saturday. Currently, the Western Division 2 holds the title of defending champions. Teams are split into two pools, with Pool A consisting of Western Division 2, Southern Division, Western Division 1, and Headquarters, while Pool B includes Police Mobile Force, Central Division, Eastern Division, and Northern Division.
This generous sponsorship reflects the sponsors’ recognition of the Fiji Police Force’s efforts and their commitment to community engagement. It offers a much-needed morale boost and underscores the community’s role in supporting the police’s operations in Fiji.
Previously, the Western Division 2 team secured a victory over the Police Mobile Force with a 1-0 win, asserting their dominance in the competition. The final goal by Sairusi Nalaubu emphasized their skill, which led them to receive additional rewards, including a shopping voucher from Extra Supermarket. The ongoing support and recognition help foster a positive atmosphere within the police force, benefiting their forthcoming engagements such as the much-anticipated 2024 Sukuna Bowl competition.
