Fifteen police officers have successfully completed their reintegration into civilian life after returning from United Nations peacekeeping missions. These officers recently finished the Police Post Deployment Reintegration Program, which followed their tours of duty with various UN missions.

Among the returning officers, thirteen served with the United Nations Mission in South Sudan, one was part of the Multinational Force and Observers, and another with the United Nations Interim Security Force for Abyei. The completion of the program was marked by a ceremony officiated by Acting Deputy Commissioner of Police Aporosa Lutunauga.

During the event, Lutunauga expressed his appreciation for the officers’ dedication and resilience, particularly noting their safe return from challenging and high-risk environments. He also emphasized the vital role of families, especially spouses and partners, whose support was instrumental during the officers’ absences.

As a testament to their commitment to international peacekeeping efforts, the officers were awarded Overseas Service and Long Service Medals, recognizing both their contributions to global security and their essential service in the Fiji Police Force. This acknowledgment highlights the importance of their roles not only domestically but also in the international community, reinforcing a message of hope and dedication to peace.
