The Leader of the Opposition, Inia Seruiratu, is urging Barbara Malimali, the chief of the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption (FICAC), to resign or step down until an ongoing investigation regarding her conduct is concluded.
Seruiratu expressed his serious concerns over the allegations, which were brought to light last month by Ana Mataiciwa, the Supervisor of Elections. She filed a formal complaint with the Acting Police Commissioner, Juki Fong Chew, accusing Malimali of misconduct, including office abuse, intimidation, and harassment of witnesses.
