Presidents from netball unions across the nation convened in Suva yesterday for a significant meeting with Netball Fiji to assess and discuss the proposed new constitution for the organization. The session also included the participation of Vivian Koster, the Oceania Netball Regional Director and former chief executive officer of Netball Fiji.
During the discussions, Koster expressed satisfaction with the active exchange of ideas among the union presidents concerning the proposed amendments. A key focus of these changes revolves around the governance structure of Netball Fiji, including a shift away from having an executive committee within the board of management.
Koster remarked on the importance of these discussions, stating, “Today was really going through it again, making sure that we get everything we want in there and from here what our next steps are.” However, Koster also reminded attendees that the proposed changes are still in draft form and will require further deliberation before being finalized.
The ongoing dialogue among the union presidents signifies a collaborative effort to enhance the governance of netball in Fiji, promising a more organized and efficient structure that could further benefit the sport and its players. As the organization moves forward, there is optimism that these proposed changes will strengthen netball’s future in the region.
