A woman is currently in police custody while a man remains at large following a drug raid in Vunibota Settlement, Navosa. The incident occurred yesterday when officers from the Fiji Police Force were executing a search warrant at the suspects’ home. During the operation, the male suspect allegedly threatened police with a knife before fleeing on horseback.
As the police continued to search the property, they uncovered nearly two thousand dried plants wrapped in cloth, alongside zip lock bags containing loose dried leaves and seeds, which are believed to be marijuana. A 48-year-old woman was apprehended during the raid and is under investigation.
The Fiji Police have confirmed that the seized materials have been sent for analysis, while efforts are ongoing to locate the male suspect who remains at large. This incident underscores the ongoing commitment of law enforcement in Fiji to combat drug-related offenses and enhance community safety.
