Ailava Samuels, who was the first runner-up in the Miss Fiji Pageant, has been selected to represent Fiji at the upcoming Miss Pacific Islands Pageant, taking place next month. This announcement was made by the Miss Fiji Secretariat during a press conference held this morning.

The current Miss Fiji, Peggy Ravusiro, will not be participating in the event for personal reasons. The Secretariat explained that Ravusiro was unable to sign her participation contract despite multiple attempts to finalize her involvement. Consequently, Miss Fiji Pageant Director Ana Tuiketei emphasized that the decision to appoint Samuels as the representative was necessary to meet the pageant’s deadlines and participation criteria.

Samuels, who is actively engaged in her community in Nasinu, also serves as one of Fiji’s Online Safety Ambassadors. Her background includes representing Fiji at the Oceania Athletics Championships during her Year 13 studies, showcasing her diverse talents and dedication. The Miss Fiji Secretariat expressed confidence in Samuels’ readiness and commitment, believing she will uphold Fiji’s pride at the Miss Pacific Islands Pageant in 2026.

With Samuels stepping into this role, there is a sense of optimism surrounding her potential to shine on this larger stage, contributing positively to Fiji’s representation in the region.
