A 27-year-old man faces charges from the Fiji Police M-PAiSA task force for allegedly defrauding two victims. The incidents took place during August and September, during which the man reportedly deceived the victims into paying a total of $150 for items he listed for sale on Facebook but never provided.

He is charged with two counts of Obtaining Financial Advantage by Deception and is scheduled to appear before the Nadi Magistrates Court.

While this case highlights the risks associated with online transactions, it serves as a reminder to the public to remain vigilant. Online shopping can be convenient, but consumers should always verify sellers and their reputations to avoid potential scams.

This situation underscores the importance of vigilance in online marketplaces and illustrates law enforcement’s commitment to addressing fraud in the digital age. It is hopeful that increased awareness and timely reporting can lead to safer online buying experiences for everyone.
