Fiji Link has officially announced the suspension of all flights to and from the Northern Division, which includes Labasa, Savusavu, and Taveuni, as well as Kadavu, effective Monday, February 24, 2025. This suspension is a precautionary measure in response to adverse weather conditions related to Tropical Disturbance 09F (TD09F). The safety of passengers and crew remains the airline’s highest priority.
As of today, Sunday, February 23, 2025, Fiji Link’s flights are still operating according to schedule. Passengers who intend to travel to Labasa are encouraged to finalize their travel arrangements quickly ahead of the suspension, as high demand for customer service assistance may lead to longer wait times for inquiries.
This situation mirrors earlier challenges faced by Fiji Airways, which encountered severe weather disruptions that halted operations at Nadi International Airport, affecting numerous flights. In the past months, airlines have taken proactive measures to safeguard safety, including offering supplemental flights and providing timely updates to passengers.
Fiji Link is advising customers to stay informed through their Travel Alerts page and official social media channels as the weather situation develops. Although these disruptions can be frustrating, there is optimism that weather conditions will improve soon, enabling a return to normal operations and more streamlined travel for all passengers.
