Ka’iulani Scott is set to make her senior debut for the Fiji Kulas at the OFC Women’s Nations Cup this Saturday in Suva, marking a significant milestone in her football journey. The 17-year-old goalkeeper, who currently plays for Eastern Suburbs in New Zealand, has strong family ties to Fiji, particularly her mother’s heritage from Lau.

Scott expressed her excitement about representing Fiji, stating, “I am super excited to play for the Fiji Kulas and hopefully make my senior women’s debut.” She emphasized the positive training environment with the team, noting the friendly and supportive atmosphere among her teammates.

The Fiji Kulas will kick off their Group B matches against the Solomon Islands, followed by games against Tonga on July 8 and Vanuatu on July 11, all scheduled to start at 7 PM at the HFC Bank Stadium.

This opportunity for Scott not only highlights her personal achievement but also serves to inspire other young female athletes in Fiji, reflecting the growing recognition and support for women’s football in the region. With dedicated preparation leading up to the tournament, the Fiji Kulas are not just aiming for success on the pitch but also setting a hopeful precedent for the future of women’s sports in the Pacific.

In light of her journey, Scott’s participation is a hopeful symbol of the potential for success and recognition that women in sports can achieve, paving the way for future generations.
