Headline: Inoke Dreketirua’s 36-year Insurance Journey Honored with Lifetime Achievement

Inoke Dreketirua has been honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award for his 36 years of service in Fiji’s insurance sector. The 54-year-old heads the Property and Casualty Division at Capital Insurance and received the accolade at the Insurance Association of Fiji’s inaugural awards and gala night, a gathering that celebrated excellence and long-standing contributions to the industry.

Hailing from Raralevu, Namata, Tailevu, Inoke began his insurance career as a teenager at a time when the industry was little understood, especially within the iTaukei community. Through passion and perseverance, he helped shift perceptions about the value of insurance, underscoring that it’s about securing a family’s future, not merely issuing policies. He notes that while acceptance was limited at the outset, today more young iTaukei are embracing insurance as a cornerstone of financial security.

His counsel to younger generations is straightforward: before purchasing a house or a car, invest in a life insurance policy first. Now a grandfather, Inoke’s commitment to his work reflects a personal mission to bolster financial resilience in his community, and he intends to remain in the industry for as long as possible. From a trainee to an industry leader, his journey mirrors the gradual but meaningful change unfolding in Fiji’s insurance landscape. He views the Lifetime Achievement Award as more than a personal honour; it’s a testament to his dedication and the broader shift toward recognizing long-term contributions in Fiji’s insurance sector.

This milestone underscores the industry’s growing emphasis on professional longevity and community impact, signaling a positive trajectory for financial security across Fiji’s families.

Summary: A milestone award recognizing decades of service and a broader push toward greater financial resilience in Fiji’s insurance sector.
