TotalEnergies Marketing (Fiji) Pte Ltd has unveiled Fiji’s pioneering smartphone-based fuelling system at their Nausori branch, enhancing convenience for customers with the launch of a digital fuelling platform. Betty Panapasa, the company’s Retail Optimizer, emphasized that this initiative aims to eliminate the need for plastic cards and further lower the carbon footprint by promoting paperless operations—demonstrating TotalEnergies’ commitment to sustainability.
With the introduction of the Mobility Pay app and an OTP fuelling system, customers can now fuel their vehicles directly from their smartphones. Panapasa stated that the digital platform not only supports environmental goals but also significantly enhances user experience. Alongside this innovation, TotalEnergies has revamped its Nausori branch, which now includes a selection of freshly baked goods and food items for customers to enjoy while they refuel their vehicles.
Managing director Bhavana Samel highlighted the dual purpose of the branch, noting that it allows customers to “refuel themselves” with food and beverages while their cars are being serviced or filled up. This new offering reflects TotalEnergies’ ongoing effort to combine utility and sustainability in its services, indicating plans for similar enhancements in other branches throughout the country.
This move aligns with recent trends in Fiji, where energy companies are increasingly focusing on technology and sustainability in their operations. Past initiatives by TotalEnergies, such as the reformulated Excellium fuel, introduced in 2017 and focused on cleaner energy, align with the company’s broader sustainability goals. Such advancements not only enhance customer experience but also signify a proactive approach towards environmental responsibility.
As Fiji embraces these technological innovations in its fuel stations, there is hope for a more eco-friendly future, demonstrating that convenience can be achieved without compromising sustainability. This shift reflects a larger commitment within the region to modernize services while fostering a healthier environment.
