Heavy rainfall in Fiji has led to significant flooding, impacting access to numerous roads and crossings in the Northern and Western Divisions. According to the Fiji Roads Authority, many low-lying areas, including crossings, culverts, and sections of road, have become impassable, particularly affecting regions such as Labasa, Natua, Savusavu, and Rakiraki.

In the Northern Division, various crossings in Labasa, such as Boca Loop Flats, Bucalevu Crossing, and Konasami Crossing, are among the severely impacted areas, with additional roads like Nakoroutari, Nasarava, Qawa, Seavaci, Tabia, and Urata also facing flooding. The Natua area is similarly affected, with significant flooding reported on roads including Buavou, Dagau, Drawa, and Kawakawavesi.

Savusavu has not been spared either; Bagata Crossing and multiple sections of Lesiaceva Road, Levuka Road, and Nabunicibi Road are also experiencing flooding, creating challenges for local residents.

Authorities are actively monitoring the situation and encourage community members to exercise caution when traveling. With steady efforts to manage the effects of the rainfall, there is hope for improved conditions as the weather stabilizes. Communities are coming together to navigate these challenges, fostering resilience in the face of adversity.
