The High Court in Suva has sentenced a farmer for his involvement in a robbery at the Alison Supermarket located in Laucala Beach Estate, just outside of Suva, which took place in 2024. Leone Lesumailepanoni was declared guilty by Justice Thushara Rajasinghe on December 22, facing two counts of aggravated robbery.

While he was acquitted of one count due to insufficient evidence linking him to that specific act, the court upheld the other charge. Lesumailepanoni remains in custody as he awaits sentencing, which is scheduled for Thursday. This case underscores the continued efforts of the Fijian judiciary to address and adjudicate cases of violent crime effectively.
