The Rev Ronald Ram has called on the public to embrace a spirit of renewal, foster family connections, and offer mutual support as Fiji approaches the year 2026. As the leader of the Grace Samaritan Assembly of God, Mr. Ram emphasized that the beginning of a new year offers a valuable opportunity for individuals to reset their aspirations and progress forward, regardless of past challenges.

“If last year did not go well, the new year is a chance for a fresh beginning,” he remarked, highlighting the importance of strong personal values and faith in overcoming life’s obstacles. Mr. Ram underscored the critical role of sturdy family units as the backbone of both communities and the nation, asserting that strong families lead to stronger communities, which positively impacts the nation’s health.

Reflecting on the church’s journey since it was founded in Korociriciri, Nausori, 12 years ago, Mr. Ram noted the initial hurdles faced in establishing a congregation within the community, which is home to over 400 Indo-Fijian families. He shared that the church began with just 10 members but has grown significantly, now boasting more than 100 members thanks to persistent prayer and local support.

Looking forward to 2026, Rev Ram expressed ambitions to broaden the church’s outreach initiatives, with a dedicated focus on aiding vulnerable groups. He stated, “Our goal is to reach at least 50 more people, including widows, single mothers, and those grappling with social challenges like drug-related issues.” The plan includes extending outreach efforts beyond Korociriciri, aiming to offer assistance to those in need throughout the region.

This vision of growth and community support highlights a hopeful outlook for both the church and the wider community, ensuring that the spirit of togetherness and support continues to flourish in Fiji.
