The 2026 BIC Fiji FACT pool games are set to take place at Subrail Park in Labasa on June 19, 20, and 21. However, the Fiji Football Association (Fiji FA) has yet to finalize the venues for the semifinals and finals. Originally, these crucial matches were to be held at Subrail Park, but the Labasa Town Council has expressed a preference for a private wedding booking at the venue during the same time frame.
As a contingency, HFC Bank Stadium has been secured as an alternative location for the semifinals and finals. Fiji FA Chief Executive Officer Mohammed Yusuf emphasized the importance of prioritizing economic benefits for the town. He plans to formally address the issue with the government, highlighting that hosting a major tournament like the Fiji FACT would yield more significant economic advantages for Labasa compared to the benefits gleaned from a single private event.
Yusuf indicated that if a resolution is not reached, the semifinal and final matches would take place at HFC Bank Stadium on June 26 and 27, respectively. With the discussions ongoing, there remains hope that a solution will be found that benefits both the local community and the football tournament.
