Fiji is set to leverage their home advantage as the FIFA World Cup 2026 qualifiers proceed this month in Suva. With the third match day approaching, Coach Rob Sherman’s team is preparing to make a significant effort to reach the semi-final stage, slated to take place in New Zealand in early 2025. The coach remains hopeful, having retained the majority of the squad he previously worked with this year.
“We’ve had a couple of friendlies in the September window, so we’ve been working with the team consistently throughout the year,” Sherman stated. He expressed satisfaction with the team’s preparation for the qualifiers, saying, “In terms of preparation for the qualifiers, things have gone pretty well, so I’m reasonably happy with the progress we’ve made.”
