Fiji showcased an impressive performance in their opening match at the Oceania Rugby Sevens Championship held in Honiara, achieving a dominant victory over Nauru with a score of 61-7. The match underscored Fiji’s prowess in the abbreviated format of rugby, as they outscored their opponents with a remarkable tally of nine tries against just one for Nauru.

The scoring for Fiji included contributions from Lasaro Bogisa, Mikaele Rabuli, Alipate Biu, and Rokoua Rasaku, along with two tries from Sakiusa Siqila and a hat trick from Solomone Rauqe. Eight successful conversions added to their impressive score.

In a parallel highlight, the Fijiana 7s team also enjoyed a commanding first-round victory, defeating Vanuatu 47-0.

Looking ahead, the Fiji 7s Development team is set to take on Tuvalu at 8:16 PM today, while the Fijiana team will face the hosts, the Solomon Islands, at 6:04 PM.
