Fiji demonstrated exceptional skill and dominance in the opening match of the Oceania Rugby Sevens Championship, defeating Nauru with an impressive score of 61-7 in Honiara. The Fijian team showcased their potential in the abbreviated format of the game, scoring a total of nine tries while limiting their opponents to just one.

Key players contributed to Fiji’s victory, with Lasaro Bogisa, Mikaele Rabuli, Alipate Biu, and Rokoua Rasaku each scoring tries. Sakiusa Siqila made a significant impact with two tries, and Solomone Rauqe stole the spotlight with a remarkable hat trick. The team was also successful with the boot, converting eight tries into points.

On a parallel note, Fiji’s women’s team, the Fijiana 7s, also secured a commanding victory, overpowering Vanuatu 47-0 in their first match.
