The Fiji 7s team delivered an impressive performance, defeating Argentina 43-21 to secure their place in the HSBC Dubai 7s gold medal final. Showcasing their strength, Fiji scored seven tries compared to Argentina’s three, establishing a dominant lead as they went into halftime at 21-7.
Fiji controlled the game early, demonstrating strong composure and an aggressive defense that allowed them to maintain significant possession. The scoring began quickly with George Bose finding the try line just two minutes in, followed by Joji Nasova and captain Jeremaia Matana adding to the tally within the first seven minutes. Filipe Sauturaga contributed by converting three of the tries.
After the break, Nasova continued Fiji’s scoring streak, followed closely by Pilipo Bukayaro. Ilikimi Vunaki and Terio Veilawa rounded off the scoring for Fiji with their tries, while Iowane Teba added another conversion. Argentina managed to score three tries through Santiago Mare, Marcos Moneta, and Luciano Gonzalez, with their conversions coming from Joaquin Pellandini, Santiago Vera Feld, and Gonzalez himself.
