Minister for Communication, Ioane Naivalurua, visited the headquarters of the Fiji Broadcasting Corporation (FBC) on Wednesday, where he received a detailed briefing on the organization’s structure, operations, and strategic objectives. This visit allowed the Minister to gain a deeper understanding of FBC’s commitment to align its work with the government’s priorities and effectively serve the nation.

During the tour, Naivalurua expressed gratitude for the informative and well-structured briefing provided by FBC’s Chair, Board, CEO, and staff. He highlighted that several issues were raised during his visit that he intends to discuss further with ministry officials in order to seek solutions.

Reflecting on his experience, the Minister stated, “That’s really what I believe the communication sector is all about. But today, I would like to thank the CEO and his hard-working team. Going through the rooms, I was here many, many years ago, but today is just a big eye-opener, and I’m happy to be associated with the work of FBC.” He stressed the importance of motivation and outcomes in the sector, emphasizing that while funding is crucial, it’s essential to focus on improving the lives of people, enhancing service accessibility, and ensuring the community is well-informed.

Naivalurua’s visit has underscored the vital role FBC plays in the communication landscape of Fiji. His insights are expected to lead to further improvements in the sector, benefiting the community at large.
