Tropical Disturbance TD03F has been elevated to a TROPICAL DEPRESSION and is poised to unleash heavy rain and strong winds across Fiji over the coming days. A heavy rain warning is currently in effect for the entire nation, raising concerns about potential flooding.

In addition to the rain warning, a flash flood alert has been issued for all low-lying and flood-prone regions, as well as smaller streams. The weather system is moving at a slow pace and is anticipated to reach Fiji’s waters by tomorrow, impacting the country until Wednesday. Given that the ground is already saturated, the risk of flooding is deemed high.

Furthermore, strong northerly winds are expected to impact areas such as Vanua Levu, Yasawa, Mamanuca, northern Lau, and Lomaiviti starting tomorrow. Mariners should prepare for rough seas, poor visibility, and possible thunderstorms during this time.

Fortunately, weather conditions are projected to improve gradually by Thursday, offering hope for a calmer and clearer environment following the storm’s passage. Residents are encouraged to stay vigilant and prepared as the system approaches.
