The Fiji Bitter Wairiki 7s tournament commenced with great enthusiasm at the Wairiki Parish Grounds yesterday. The event began with exciting matches in the junior grades, which started on Tuesday, showcasing talents from under-15 to under-18 categories.

As the junior competitions concluded, the spotlight then turned to the main events featuring teams from under-18 to under-21, along with senior categories. Matches kicked off for these groups, followed by a brief intermission before the senior teams took to the field.

The tournament will continue with more matches tomorrow and is set to conclude on Saturday.

In the under-18 to under-21 category, several matches took place with notable results including Jay Brothers defeating Breakthrough Brothers 14-7, and Supercool Vatukoro achieving a significant win over Naselesele with a score of 24-0. Meanwhile, in the senior category, Police Blue recorded a convincing 24-5 victory against Raiwasa Taveuni.

The tournament saw junior grade winners for U15 through U18, with the Young Trinity Brothers, Sausauvou Taveuni, Eagle State Taveuni, Navakawau Brothers, and Eagle State Naselesele all emerging victorious in their respective categories.

This event not only highlights the sporting talent in Fiji but also fosters community spirit and strengthens ties among the teams and supporters. As the tournament progresses, it promises to bring more thrilling matches and showcase the bright future of rugby in the region.
