The Fiji Baby Bula Boys have secured their place in the semi-finals of the OFC U-16 Men’s Championship in Tahiti, following a thrilling 3-2 victory over Vanuatu in their final Group A match.
Finishing as the runners-up in Group A, behind New Zealand, Fiji will now face the winners of Group B for a chance to reach the final.
The semi-finalists have an additional opportunity to qualify for the FIFA U-17 Men’s World Cup in Qatar next year. The top two teams from Papeete will qualify, along with the winner of the third and fourth place playoff at the prestigious tournament.
Vanuatu, which needed a win by at least six goals to advance to the semi-finals ahead of the Cook Islands, started the match explosively.
